2025 Calendar of Events PT I

For the past thirty years, I have volunteered and fundraised for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Honor of my Grandmother, Anne  Zavorskas.  In that time, Team Zombie Leader has raised over $270,143 to help eradicate blood cancers including over $48,540 this year as part of my 2022 Greater CT Honorary Man of the Year Campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Connecticut & Hudson Valley.

I  have accomplished every single one of my goals for this charity including being recognized by the New England Patriots as a 2022 Myra Kraft Community MVP via New England Patriots Foundation.  As such, I have recognized it’s time to to spread the wealth and lend my  fundraising/creative skills to assist other worthy charities as well.  

The  first such cause is Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer  Research to Honor my Mother, Lorraine Zavorskas.  Within the span of four months after diagnosis, my Mom died from Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer  a dozen years ago.  This cause is dear to me as well.  Every single  dollar raised for Lustgarten goes directly to research for a cure.  And  I’m going to do my part.  The next $250,000 I fundraise will be in her name.  As of 1/23/24, Team Zombie Leader has raised over $63,027 in her Memory.

  For the past thirty  years, I have raised nearly $274,666 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Greater CT Chapter. All of my hard work and dedication to LLS has earned me the 2022 Myra Kraft Community MVP from the New England Patriots Charity Foundation as well as LLS’s 2022 Great CT Volunteerism Award, 2000 prestigious "Unsung Hero" Award as well as the 2005 Mid-Fairfield County American Red Cross "Unsung Hero" award for my charitable work. All of these I deeply appreciate.  I also received the 2016 Campaign Innovation Award from LLS for incorporating geekdom into my successful campaign.  These recognitions are humbling and I appreciate recognition of years of hard work.  MIDTOWN COMICS PARTNERS WITH THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY TO FIGHT BLOOD CANCERS

March 12, 2025 – Midtown Comics, the United States’ largest comic book retailer, is once again partnering up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for an upcoming charity event. We're proud to team up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Connecticut-Albany-Eastern New York Chapter and Team Zombie Leader's Todd Zavorskas to make a difference for the tenth year in a row!  Todd has volunteered with the LLS Greater CT Chapter for the past thirty years. He was recently recognized by the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation as a New England Patriots 2022 Myra Kraft Community MVP, raising over $274,666 to date to help eradicate blood cancers in Memory of his Grandmother, Anne, who passed away years ago from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. 

Here at Midtown Comics, we see Todd as our guiding light for this initiative.  The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is:  Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The sale offers up to 75% off everything including comics, back issues, select back issues, graphic novels, books, manga, statues, action figures, collectibles, apparel and more.  For every purchase, Midtown will donate $1 to LLS, up to $2,000.  For the previous seven years, online Midtown sales brought in over $28,900 to help eradicate blood cancers.
